EverDriven Enhances Safety in Student Transportation
In a major advancement for student safety, EverDriven, a leader in Alternative Student Transportation services, has begun deploying its cutting-edge AI camera monitoring system across 55 school districts in 12 states since launching the technology in September 2024.
This initiative focuses on providing safe transportation solutions for special needs students, those experiencing homelessness, and other non-traditional riders, operating across 34 states in the U.S.
Implementation Across School Districts
The technology rollout includes districts in states such as Arizona, California, Colorado, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Texas. The system captures both interior and exterior footage, securely storing high-resolution video and audio for 30 days, with access limited to authorized personnel.
Trace Tolby, Student Transportation Director at Gilbert Public Schools in Arizona, shared insights on the impact of the system: ‘As a district that values student safety above all, the EverDriven Camera Solution is a game-changer for us. It ensures the safety and accountability of every ride.’
Technology and Data Security
Part of EverDriven’s broader technology platform, the camera system integrates with the VIP app for both parents and staff, along with a District Portal for managing transportation requests. The VIP app offers driver details, trip updates, and GPS-based estimated arrival times, while staff access is geofenced to enhance data privacy.
Mitch Bowling, CEO of EverDriven, emphasized the significance of this expansion: ‘Safety is at the core of everything we do at EverDriven. We’ve rapidly introduced this technology to districts nationwide, setting a new standard for accountability in our industry.’ He added, ‘The demand showcases the critical need for advanced monitoring solutions, and we are dedicated to continuously improving student safety.’
