Newsweek has announced the winners of its inaugural AI Impact Awards, recognizing 38 companies across 13 categories. As AI becomes increasingly integral to everyday life, its role as a transformative technology continues to grow, impacting sectors from healthcare to finance, retail, and education. To celebrate these advancements, Newsweek honored organizations leveraging AI to address practical challenges. Jennifer H. Cunningham, Newsweek’s editor-in-chief, stated that ‘AI is reshaping our world, and the organizations receiving this award are at the forefront of that transformation.’ The awards covered various sectors, with five winners in healthcare, four in education, and recognition across arts, retail, science, engineering, finance, marketing, and workplace innovator categories. Notably, Perfect Corp. was awarded for its Skin Analysis tool, earning the Best Outcomes, Customer Experience honor. Wayne Liu of Perfect Corp. expressed pride in the recognition, saying, ‘Our technology and effort have been seen.’ The judging panel comprised 56 experts who also selected Every Cure as the overall Best in Class, for its innovative use of FDA-approved medications. Ex-Human received an award for its AI-driven creation of customizable digital humans, with CEO Artem Rodichev emphasizing the importance of emotional depth in AI development. The winners are invited to attend the upcoming Newsweek AI Impact Summit in Sonoma, California, from June 23 to 25, fostering discussions on effective AI adoption.
