Apple Rolls Out AI-Centric Update
Apple has officially launched its latest operating system update, which focuses on artificial intelligence. This eagerly awaited update, known as Apple Intelligence, was rolled out on Monday after several months of anticipation.
The update, which is available for supported iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices, introduces various new features designed to enhance user experience. Apple’s AI capabilities were first previewed during the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) held in June.
How to Access Apple Intelligence
To utilize the new AI features, users need to first update their devices to iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, or macOS Sequoia 15.1. After updating, users should navigate to Settings > Apple Intelligence & Siri and join the waitlist for access. Once accepted, they can enable Apple Intelligence and explore additional options and settings.
Key Features of Apple Intelligence
This initial rollout includes several key features:
- Writing Tools: Integrated into various apps, these tools allow users to rewrite and summarize texts, including proofreading options that offer suggestions and explanations for edits.
- Priorities and Summaries: Urgent messages will appear at the top of email inboxes, with summary and smart reply options available for notifications.
- Siri Redesign: Siri receives a visual makeover, allowing for more contextual understanding during conversations and enabling users to type their requests.
- Photos App Upgrade: The Photos app now includes a Clean Up tool for removing unwanted objects and creating movies using descriptions.
- Other Enhancements: A new Focus option called Reduce Interruptions is available, and the Notes app features transcription capabilities.

The Apple Intelligence update is compatible with:
- iPhone: iPhone 16 (all models), iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max

Future Features of Apple Intelligence
This update marks just the beginning, with more features to be introduced in future releases. Upcoming enhancements include two notable features: Genmoji, which enables custom emoji creation, and Image Playground, allowing users to generate images based on text descriptions. Both features are expected to launch with the iOS 18.2 update in December.
Additionally, integrations such as ChatGPT for Siri are anticipated, alongside further updates to Writing Tools and Priority notifications.
