Apple AI tools showcasing interactive features for users

Apple’s new artificial intelligence tools are here, and the company is eager to help customers understand them. On Wednesday, the Cupertino, Calif.-based tech giant began offering 15-minute briefings across its U.S. retail stores on its suite of AI tools termed Apple Intelligence. This set of tools aims to enhance productivity for iPhone users, including features such as composing emails, creating new emojis, and even editing photos.

Apple Intelligence plays a crucial role in the company’s latest operating system, enticing users to upgrade and purchase new devices. Prominently featured in advertisements for the newly launched iPhone 16, these tools have the potential to push more consumers towards adopting advanced AI technology.

Although AI tools have been prevalent in the market, integrating them directly for Apple users may speed up mainstream acceptance. Yet, as these features have a significant learning curve, Apple Store employees are responsible for assisting customers in adopting them.

Assisting Communication

The new AI offerings assist users on iPhones, iPads, and Macs with proofreading and drafting messages. For example, an iPhone user preparing an invitation for a sushi gathering can input details, and Apple Intelligence will construct a comprehensive invitation.

Moreover, users can adjust the tone of their messages. The AI can flag unanswered questions in emails, summarize lengthy memos, and alert users to important messages, ensuring no time-sensitive notifications are overlooked.

Compiling Memories, Erasing Exes

The AI tools make it simpler for users to search photo libraries and compile videos from their memories based on specific descriptions. For instance, by typing ‘Hannah and her bunny over the years,’ the software can create a slideshow video enhanced with music.

A photo editing feature allows users to remove undesired elements from images, such as selfie sticks and photobombers, enhancing their photo collections.

A Smarter Siri?

With the latest updates, Siri can better interpret user requests, even in cases where users falter in their speech. Users retain the option to either verbalize or type inquiries to Siri.

Emojis on Demand

Apple Intelligence also facilitates the creation of customized emojis for messaging. For example, users can generate an emoji by typing a description like ‘shrimp with a cowboy hat.’

Looking ahead, Apple plans to introduce additional features, including enhanced emoji-generation based on user photos and the integration of ChatGPT within Siri.
