Colorintech Launches Ambitious Initiative to Make AI Accessible for All
Colorintech, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting inclusivity in the tech sector, has unveiled its “AI for Everyone” initiative, backed by a significant $1 million grant from the Juniper Networks Foundation.
Founded in 2016, Colorintech strives to foster diversity within Europe’s tech ecosystem. By partnering with leading technology companies, it has successfully facilitated over $50 million in funding for underrepresented founders and built a community exceeding 60,000 members.
The initiative aims to provide comprehensive training in AI, targeting 5,000 individuals by 2027 and reaching an additional 30,000 through awareness campaigns. The curriculum will be developed in collaboration with industry leaders such as ServiceNow, Google DeepMind, and Bloomberg, promoting better employability in AI careers.
Additionally, Colorintech plans to create a grant fund for aspiring AI entrepreneurs and launch an awareness campaign to make AI more approachable. An Inclusive AI Workforce advisory board, composed of industry experts and academics, will also guide the initiative’s best practices for AI development across the UK and Europe.
Dion McKenzie, Co-Founder of Colorintech, emphasized the critical importance of investing in digital skills, stating:
“The UK faces a once-in-a-generation opportunity to lead in AI adoption, but risks falling behind without adequate investment in digital skills.”
