Emerging Technologies Expected to Create Over 1 Million Jobs in India by 2030

New Delhi: Emerging technologies like quantum computing and Generative AI are expected to create over 1 million jobs by 2030, according to a report released by Quess IT Staffing. The report highlights how skills in artificial intelligence, machine learning (ML), cybersecurity, cloud computing, data science, and blockchain are transforming various industries.

Additionally, these emerging technologies are expected to contribute over USD 150 billion to the Indian economy by 2030, solidifying India’s status as a global technology leader. Bengaluru remains the hub for tech hiring, indicating the city’s pivotal role in the evolving landscape.

Konnecting further insights, the ‘Technology Skills Report 2024’ states, ‘Emerging technologies like Quantum Computing and Generative AI are expected to create over 1 million jobs by 2030.’ Skills in AI/ML, cybersecurity, data science, and blockchain are noted for their significant impact across sectors such as healthcare, banking, and retail.

Kapil Joshi, CEO of Quess IT Staffing, emphasized that the synergy between traditional skills like ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and emerging technologies presents unprecedented opportunities in the job market.

Bengaluru leads the tech hiring landscape, accounting for nearly 43.5% of demand, followed by Hyderabad at 13.4% and Pune at 10%. The report also forecasts that the Indian IT sector will add up to 2 million jobs by 2030, with Generative AI and Blockchain driving this growth.
