SM Entertainment and LG U+ are joining forces to utilize the telecommunication company’s generative AI program for the upcoming virtual singer nævis. This collaboration was announced on Sunday following a business agreement signed on Thursday at SM Entertainment’s headquarters in Seongsu-dong, eastern Seoul. The signing ceremony was attended by key figures from both companies, including SM Entertainment’s co-CEO Tak Young-jun and LG U+’s executive vice president Chung Sue-hyun.

nævis is set to debut on September 10 as SM Entertainment’s first official virtual artist. The singer’s voice is AI-generated, and the content will be produced in both 2-D and 3-D formats. LG U+ will assist in creating promotional materials, including music videos, short-form videos, concept photos, and merchandise.
