The initiative is designed to improve teaching methods, learning experiences, and educational management, equipping students and teachers with essential AI knowledge. The ministry aims to integrate AI tools into both instructional practices and assessment processes.

To support this transformation, the Ministry of Education is developing specialized training programs for teachers and innovative lesson plans catered to all backgrounds and ages within Israeli society. The goal is to utilize artificial intelligence as a means to enhance educational practices and provide a personalized learning experience tailored to individual student needs.

The ministry has partnered with thousands of mentors from Israel’s high-tech sector and established relationships with global tech giants including Google, Microsoft, Apple, and Intel. Teacher training sessions focusing on AI tools are already in progress.

On January 7, an event titled “AI Connect for Education” will be co-hosted with Google, allowing thousands of students, educators, and supervisors to gain hands-on experience with generative AI tools suitable for classroom integration.

A Groundbreaking Global Initiative

Highlighting the initiative’s global significance, Minister Kisch stated, “We are proud to lead a groundbreaking global initiative—a full academic year dedicated to artificial intelligence in education.” He emphasized the collaboration with tech major players and the involvement of extensive mentorship to develop an innovative educational model.

“Our aim is to blend cutting-edge technology with education values, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to succeed in the digital realm, while fortifying Israel’s technological prowess for our children’s future,” Kisch added.

Merav Zarbiv, who heads the Innovation and Technology Division, also underscored the importance of collaboration between different sectors: “The synergy between teachers, students, and the high-tech industry exemplifies our commitment to advancing technological innovation while maintaining educational integrity. We are forging a strong link between education and technology to drive meaningful change in Israel.”
