JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – In a city known for its vibrant business landscape, Kathy Keene is making waves by integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into her entrepreneurial journey. As the owner of Keene Lane Co., she has taken significant strides to help others leverage technology to discover their own identities in the digital age.
Keen to become her own boss, Keene reflected, ‘I don’t know if there was a specific catalyst that encouraged me to launch into my own business… I have always been an entrepreneur at heart.’
After departing from a corporate marketing role, Keene established Keene Lane Co., which specializes in aiding clients in harnessing AI technologies. Her journey began over a decade ago, where she cultivated relationships with non-profit organizations that contributed to the organic growth of her brand. ‘I started with one nonprofit that was a large organization and really wonderful network, and then I would get referred to another,’ she shared.
Today, her company stands as one of only five U.S. and global partners with Canva, an Australian-based software firm that specializes in AI-driven graphic design solutions. ‘That really transpired after I was connecting with Canva and because of our experience and background in using Canva,’ she explained.
Through her partnership with Canva, Keene is committed to encouraging businesses—especially women-led initiatives—to explore AI and digital tools. Recently appointed as a brand ambassador for SheIsAI, she advocates for empowering women in technology, particularly those in minority and underserved communities. ‘We need more women in tech and AI, we need more women in innovation,’ she emphasized.
