For instance, by analyzing brain activity when encountering challenging statements, researchers can compile training datasets that enhance the BCI’s learning capabilities. ‘We are getting more dimensions of data,’ she noted. ‘We are getting better and better.’

One important aspect of their research is the development of non-invasive wearable technologies rather than surgical implants. Kosmyna emphasized the flexibility of these systems: ‘You can take it off anytime you want – you can control it,’ referring to a device that enables users to operate drones or vehicles.
