Morocco Takes a Step Towards Digital Empowerment

Morocco Launches National Program to Educate Youth in AI and Digital Technologies

Rabat – Morocco has officially launched a national program aimed at introducing children to digital technology and artificial intelligence (AI). The initiative was solidified with a partnership agreement signed on Saturday in Rabat. This program is a key element of the country’s ambitious “Morocco Digital 2030” strategy.

The objective of this initiative is to establish a robust digital ecosystem and equip children with the necessary skills to navigate the technologies of the future. It aims to provide young Moroccans with early exposure to AI, fostering a sense of responsibility towards ethical technology usage.

During the agreement signing, Minister of Digital Transition Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni emphasized the importance of this program in Morocco’s digital evolution. She stated that this program is a priority in Morocco’s digital development. The first phase focuses on children aged 8-14, with plans to extend to those aged 15-18. Approximately 200,000 children are expected to benefit from this initiative.

The program is set to roll out in twelve youth centers located across the country’s twelve regions, ensuring that children from different social backgrounds have access to these crucial skills. Special training will be provided for instructors to help ensure effective nationwide implementation.

As Morocco continues to progress in the field of AI, this education initiative represents a significant stride towards preparing the future workforce for an increasingly digital world. By igniting curiosity and providing essential digital skills, Morocco is fostering a new generation ready to shape the technological landscape.
