US-Based Operant AI Enters Indian Market with Innovative Cybersecurity Solutions
Operant AI, a Silicon Valley-based cybersecurity firm specializing in Artificial Intelligence (AI) application security, is launching its real-time protection platform in India and expanding its local team. The platform defends cloud environments against AI-specific threats like data exfiltration, which traditional security tools are ill-equipped to handle.
According to Operant AI’s CEO and co-founder, Vrajesh Bhavsar, “Today, as AI adoption accelerates, ensuring critical security is more urgent than ever — not just to protect businesses, but also to safeguard their customers and end users from cyber threats and data breaches.” The platform actively protects sensitive data via real-time threat detection and auto-redaction.
Operant AI’s 3D Runtime Defense Platform addresses prompt injection, data poisoning, and data exfiltration. Its in-line auto-redaction ensures sensitive information remains within a company’s environment, particularly in sectors like BFSI and FinTech.
Founded in 2021 with $13.5 million in funding from firms like Felicis and Sinewave, the India expansion marks a return for co-founders Bhavsar and CTO Priyanka Tembey, both of whom developed their engineering expertise in India prior to leading AI security initiatives at Apple, ARM, and VMware.
With a focus on major technology and financial hubs such as Bengaluru, Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Delhi-NCR, Operant AI aims to invest significantly in local partnerships with banks and AI-driven enterprises, aiding them in navigating AI security frameworks amidst stringent regulatory compliance in India.
A study by Deloitte indicates that 92% of Indian executives are concerned about cybersecurity threats, emphasizing the growing necessity for innovative cyber-solutions as AI adoption expands across various sectors.
Operant AI is actively recruiting Indian professionals skilled in AI security and cloud infrastructure, expanding its teams to enhance enterprise adoption and bolster the ‘Make in India’ initiative.
