Regarding the cotton gin and AI, what would a 200-year-old framing machine have in common with the latest technology? How about eliminating jobs.
When I asked my grade school teacher what happened to the people who lost their jobs, she said they just got other jobs. In 2024, jobs replaced with AI may make it harder for people to find new jobs, especially when AI may eliminate people at call centers. Some jobs are being eliminated with kiosks at fast food restaurants and self-service checkouts at grocery stores and department stores.

Give us a break: Instead of squabbling, why not spend surplus on something useful like license plates?
Do we need to rethink uncontrolled technology and whether there will be enough jobs in the future so we can get as close as possible to full employment? The alternative is more joblessness and a larger population of homeless people.
When politicians talk about the economy and recession are they only looking at the next election or what will happen in the next 10 to 20 years? Could renewable power be our new “New Deal?”
