WhatsApp Introduces New Meta AI Widget to Enhance User Experience
WhatsApp, the messaging platform widely utilized by billions around the globe, is experimenting with a new Meta AI widget aimed at revolutionizing user interaction. This innovative feature allows users to leverage AI directly from their home screens without needing to launch the main app.
The widget, which was first highlighted by WABetaInfo several months ago, is currently available to select WhatsApp users participating in the latest beta program. The new Meta AI widget not only simplifies the process of asking questions but also facilitates image uploads directly from the home screen, providing quick access to the AI chatbot’s voice mode.
The new WhatsApp widget is resizeable, allowing customization according to users’ preferences.
This advancement utilizes Meta’s Llama large language model, enabling the AI to respond to inquiries similarly to other notable chatbots like ChatGPT and Gemini. With many already utilizing Meta AI within WhatsApp, the introduction of this homescreen widget is expected to boost the chatbot’s appeal further.
It is important to note that Meta is gradually rolling out this feature, which means not all users may access it immediately.
